An evening look at the ‘Gritty City’

For those who weren’t able to make the recent daytime version of “The Gritty City Tour,” Ollie the Trolley will be back on campus on Thursday, July 26 to take you on an evening trek to some of Omaha’s more provocative historical sites.

The Durham Museum invites The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC students and employees on a trolley tour through downtown Omaha to view and learn about several sites, including:

  • The former home of Madame Anna Wilson;
  • The Brandeis Building; and
  • The Paxton Hotel.

The tour also will highlight the impact of noted individuals and events in our city’s sometimes turbulent history.

When: Thursday, July 26 at 5:30 p.m. The tour lasts about 75 minutes.

Where: The tour starts just outside the Durham Research Center on Durham Research Plaza. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

Registration: The tour costs $5 and seating is limited. Reservations must be made in advance. Contact unmcevents@unmc.edu to reserve your space. The tour is for employees and students of The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC — spouses and guests will be accommodated only if space permits.
