What is your best memory from your time at UNMC? I am the chair for the Business and Finance reward and recognition committee, which allows me to hear about the Business and Finance people who go above and beyond. I can admit that there have been a few stories about these people that brought a tear to my eye for the selfless acts of kindness given without expecting anything in return. We have great people here at UNMC. I appreciate the chancellor for creating and supporting this program. Nominate a coworker to receive the Gold U or Silver U so we can all learn the wonderful things that they have contributed. Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC. Most recently, I provided training for the campus implementation of the new eProcurement program — eSHOP. It has been exciting to be a part of an implementation of a major process change. I have witnessed firsthand the commitment to excellence from each department I have trained. It is an incredible feeling to know that each day we are helping others. I may not be on the front lines but work to support those who are and want them to have the tools they need. List three things people may not know about you.
- I grew up in one of the most beautiful places in the world. I lived less than two hours from Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Teton Mountains.
- I lived and worked in Southern California, which is where my husband, Scott, and I met. I still think of myself as a California girl and at times drive like I am still on the 405.
- The greatest job I have ever had is being mom. It is true what they say, being a parent has its ups and downs but there is no better feeling than the love you receive in return.
