The program was created to:
- Expose students to serious biomedical research;
- Build a statewide biomedical research infrastructure between undergraduate and graduate institutions; and
- Strengthen each undergraduate institution’s infrastructure and increase its capacity to conduct cutting-edge biomedical and behavioral research.
Below, we get to know more about INBRE scholar Tia Hadley.
- Name: Tia Hadley
- Hometown: Atwood, Kan.
- School: University of Nebraska at Kearney
My dad was a doctor, so growing up I was always exposed to the health sciences and dreamed of being a doctor like my dad. Science affects us every day whether we realize it or not so to be able to understand it more and help other people is why I really want to be in science.
The INBRE program is a good way to gain more experience in the field of biomedical research and see what types of research I might be interested in. I’m hoping to learn more about research and the types of jobs available and all the opportunities that exist in the field of my choice.
So proud of you Tia! And know your dad would be too!!
