Below is a list of achievements, activities and happenings involving UNMC staff, faculty and students.

UNMC is one of “Nebraska’s Safest Companies” according to the National Safety Council of Nebraska. UNMC recently received an Award of Honor with Distinction from the council for sustained superior safety and health results and achievements for four consecutive years.

Adam Reinhardt, M.D., assistant professor of pediatrics recently received both the Hobart E. Wiltse, M.D., Ph.D. Excellence in Medical Education Award and the pediatrics department’s 2012 Faculty Clerkship Teaching Award.

Brett Kettelhut, M.D., adjunct associate professor of pediatrics; and Paige Groppe, M.D., adjunct instructor of pediatrics, received the pediatrics department’s 2012 Volunteer Faculty Clerkship Teaching Awards.

Michelle Johnson, a UNMC College of Nursing Ph.D. student, recently was selected as a 2012-2014 Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar. Johnson, of Lincoln, is the first UNMC student to receive the scholarship, which provides support for doctoral students who aspire to teach in nursing colleges. She was one of 142 scholars chosen representing 50 states. The scholarship program provides $10,000 for two years with half matched by the college. The college matched the scholarship through the University of Nebraska Foundation Who Will Care for You Fund.
