San Ming Wang, M.D., associate professor of genetics, cell biology and anatomy, will perform a violin concerto at Culturefest today that will meld Chinese and Western cultures.
Culturefest runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today in the Truhlsen Campus Events Center. |
Dr. Wang will use the concerto — a western musical style — to perform a piece that relays the story of a traditional Chinese love story.
The performance is meant to reflect the universality of the human experience, Dr. Wang said.
“Human beings have many things in common regardless of cultural, racial, language and geographical diversity,” Dr. Wang said.
Culturefest gets started at 11:30 a.m. in the Truhlsen Campus Events Center in the Sorrell Center. The event features food, performances and presentations from various cultures.
