Below is a list of achievements, activities and happenings involving UNMC staff, faculty and students.

Wayne Stuberg, Ph.D., associate director for education at the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation, recently was elected as a Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). This is considered to be the highest honor as a member of the APTA. Worthingham fellows are recognized for having a consistent record of contribution to the profession through excellence in education, research or advocacy, and practice.

Gary Beck, Ph.D., undergraduate medical education coordinator for the College of Medicine, has received the Award for Excellence in Clerkship Administration from the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics.

Cindy Colpitts, program coordinator for the Creighton-Nebraska Universities Health Foundation pediatrics residency program at UNMC College of Medicine, received the Carol Berkowitz Award for Lifetime of Advocacy and Leadership in Pediatric Medical Education from the Association of Pediatric Program Directors.

Twenty-one faculty and students from the College of Nursing are making oral and poster presentations about their research this week at the 2012 Annual Midwest Nursing Research Conference in Dearborn, Mich. The Midwest Nursing Research Society, which covers a 13-state region, has more than 1,400 members. For nearly 40 years, it has promoted the growth of nursing research quality and quantity in the Midwest.
