Lucky winner gets choice of pickup or camper
McCool Junction, NE – To help the 2012 Cattlemen’s Ball reach its fundraising goal of $1 million, five area car dealerships and one RV camper sales dealership have joined forces to give away a pickup or camper as part of a raffle drawing.
The participating dealers include: John Kohl Auto Center of York, Friesen Chevrolet of Sutton, Tonniges Chevrolet of Osceola, Roy’s Grand Dodge of Grand Island and Husker Auto Group and Leach Camper Sales of Lincoln.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Cattlemen’s Ball, which will be held in McCool Junction on June 1 and 2. This year’s theme is “Send Cancer up the Creek without a Paddle.”
Raffle tickets are $100 each, and you do not have to be present to win. The raffle winner will be given the opportunity to choose the brand of vehicle or camper he or she wants.
Raffle tickets are available by contacting raffle chairs Merlyn Minderman at 402-366-9468, Tom Scholz at 402-363-1552, Matt Rathjen at 402-724-2181 or raffle@cattlemensball.com. Information, rules and details can be found at www.cattlemensball.com.
“As seen in previous years, this is a great show of cooperation and support by the dealerships that compete in our market,” Minderman said. “The Raffle Committee thanks the dealerships for their willingness to participate in this event and help this year’s Cattlemen’s Ball raise $1 million or more for cancer research.”
The Cattlemen’s Ball is hosted by a different Nebraska ranch or feedlot every year. This year’s event is hosted by Allen and Shelly Clark. Its mission is to raise money for cancer research at the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center, while showcasing rural Nebraska and promoting beef as part of a healthy diet.
Since its inception, the Cattlemen’s Ball has raised more than $6.29 million. In addition to providing funds to the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center, a portion of the funds also is given to local health care organizations.
Through world-class research and patient care, UNMC generates breakthroughs that make life better for people throughout Nebraska and beyond. Its education programs train more health professionals than any other institution in the state. Learn more at unmc.edu.
