Below is a list of achievements, activities and happenings involving UNMC staff, faculty and students.
Two UNMC Preventative Medicine Enhanced Medical Education Track students were grand prize winners recently at the the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians 64th Annual Meeting and Scientific Assembly Medical Student Poster Competition. The students were (poster titles in parenthesis):
- Brian Keegan (Effect of Seven Modifiable Risk Factors on Healthcare Costs); and
- Tara Kirkpatrick (PSA Screening Practices of Urologists and Internists in Omaha NE).
Ryan Hajek, a fourth-year dental student at the UNMC College of Dentistry, was elected to the board of directors of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) at the 2012 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition in Orlando, Fla., last month. Hajek will serve a one-year term as vice president for students, residents and fellows. The ADEA is the voice of dental education. Its members include all U.S. and Canadian dental schools and many allied and postdoctoral dental education programs, corporations, faculty and students.
