Does Outlook have a “type-ahead” feature like Lotus Notes did when addressing an email?
There is something similar to the “type-ahead” feature. When you have previously corresponded with someone and begin to type part of his or her name, you’ll see matches appear from which to select.
In addition, you can click on the “Check Names” icon from the Message tab of the ribbon (next to Address book icon).
This will search quickly through the Global Address book for matches, making it much faster than opening the address book.
If the “Check Names” button doesn’t find your personal contacts, you can change the order of checking names by going to your Address Book options.
In Outlook 2007
- Select Tools >
- Address book and then Tools >
- Options.
In Outlook 2010
- Open the Address book from the Home tab; and
- select Tools > Options).
