Remembering … Joyce Hall

A fund to recognize Joyce Hall — a diabetes education and care leader at UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center — is being developed.

Hall died March 2 after a short battle with cancer. She was 65.

Hall was hired as the clinical nurse specialist at University Hospital to oversee diabetes education in 1988.

Several years later she stepped down from that position to provide direct care as a nurse practitioner. When the The Nebraska Medical Center’s Diabetes Center opened in April 2008, she developed the foot clinic and provided foot care as well as diabetes clinical services.

In honor of Hall’s 25 years of service, her devotion to her patients and to exemplary diabetes education and health care, the diabetes center established the Joyce Hall Diabetes Patient Assistance fund to provide funds to patients who may not otherwise be able to afford their diabetes supplies.

    Joyce was a talented and committed provider and her skills will be missed very much.

    Joyce was a wonderful person and NP. My patients who saw her in clinic loved her and are sad that she has died. She was my go to lady for diabetes. I miss her. Peggy Gerlach NP Nephrology

    sad i just found out of her passing she was a great lady and i had great feet and have a new foot guy but he just looks at ur feet she went far beyond to take care of her patients she will be missed
