From Facebook photo tags and Twitter posts to a live webcast, the UNMC Skate-a-thon for Parkinson’s is set to go viral.
If you’ll be at the Skate-a-thon for Parkinson’s this weekend, here are some thoughts to keep in mind:
This Flickr set and slideshow will be updated throughout the weekend with photos from the Skate-a-thon. Last year, the Omaha World-Herald linked directly to this photo feed from its homepage. |
If you post photos on Facebook from the Skate-a-thon, make sure to tag the UNMC Skate-a-thon for Parkinson’s Facebook page.
Skate across the states
And while you’re at the Skate-a-thon facebook page, check out the photo album, which features images from skaters throughout the world who participated and will participate in the event as part of the Skate-a-thon’s “Skate Across the States” push.
The page features images of skaters in New York, Shanghai, Duluth, Minn., San Francisco and other locales, participating in the Skate-a-thon from afar.
Flickr
Select images from the Skate-a-thon Facebook page will be uploaded to the Skate-a-thon Flickr set periodically during the weekend. Last year, the Omaha World-Herald homepage linked directly to the Flickr set so check out Omaha.com again to see if your pictures are featured.
If you “tweet” from or about the Skate-a-Thon, make sure to use the Twitter hashtag “#unmcskate” so that your messages will appear on the Skate-a-thon’s feed.
Webcast
A live webcast of the Skate-a-thon can be viewed once the event starts tonight at 5 p.m.
Visit the Skate-a-thon’s webpage to access the webcast.
