The Husker Hombre says Nebraska will hoist the Corn Bowl trophy after Friday’s Nebraska-Iowa tilt. (Peggy Cain, College of Dentistry) |
Dave Crouse, Ph.D., says Iowa will take round one in the Nebraska-Iowa Big Ten rivalry. |
But he’s going to need some help from the Huskers against Iowa to get a few fresh ears.
Dave Crouse, Ph.D., interim vice chancellor for academic affairs, received his Ph.D., from Iowa. He thinks the Hawkeyes will keep the Huskers from their ninth win and the Hombre from some new corn.
Read on for more from the Hombre and Dr. Crouse.
The Hombre says, “According to some, there could be a lot of Iowans on the road to Memorial Stadium this Friday. I might walk to the game just to be on the safe side. But in all seriousness this could be the beginning of a very entertaining border rivalry (and it’s the boarder Nebraska actually uses). I’m confident the Huskers will hoist the Corn Bowl trophy by Friday afternoon, but it will be up to the offense. The Huskers definitely have something to prove this week, and I need the corn from that trophy for my corn bandolier.” NU 38, Iowa 28
Dr. Crouse says, “I have no choice but to pick Iowa, especially after last week’s Husker game. Neither team has much of an offense so I could see this one going beyond regulation.” Iowa 24, NU 21 (in triple overtime)
Being the mother of an Iowa grad, I say "GO HAWKEYES". I too think they will take the win.
