United Way 2011 – The 3:33 report, Day 12

As the drive winds down, we remain about $15,000 from our monetary goal to raise $145,000 during the 2011 United Way campaign. As of Tuesday at 3:33 p.m., we were at $129,239.

“We’ve had large surges in donations in the final days of the drive before and we’ll need it again this year to meet our goal,” said Kacie Gerard, manager of UNMC’s United Way drive.

As for participation

As of Tuesday afternoon, drive participation was about 35 percent, which means we have topped 33 percent participation — our average the past few years.

But there’s still plenty of room for improvement in that category, Gerard said.

“As the vast majority of the campus community has yet to participate in the drive, it stands to reason we have a lot left in the tank in terms of participation and donations,” Gerard said. “Our goal is very reachable if everyone gave a little.”
