UNMC Home Instead Center to hold Country Fair for seniors on Aug. 9-11

Social activities will include talent show, musical performance and informational presentation

Older adults are invited to attend the 2011 Country Fair on Aug. 9-11 at the Home Instead Center for Successful Aging, 730 S. 38th Ave. (Leavenworth at 38th Ave.), at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

The event — which is sponsored by the center’s EngAge Wellness program — will feature a variety of activities:

Tuesday, Aug. 9 — 4:30 to 6 p.m., "Healing Tails: the Power of Pet Companionship" – a talk about the social benefits of owning a pet;
Wednesday, Aug. 10, 4-6 p.m. – Coffee House – coffee will be served. Free admission for seniors who participate in sharing their talents such as singing, storytelling and demonstrations. Admission is $1 for non-participants.
Thursday, Aug. 11 – 5 to 7 p.m., pop, rock and classic music by Envy. Admission is $2. A sack supper is available for $5. To order a meal, RSVP by Aug. 8.
