RSVP by Friday for Durham participant’s night

Employees have until Friday to RSVP for the Aug. 9 participant’s night event at The Durham Museum.

The George Washington Carver exhibit includes more than a hundred artifacts, along with videos, interactive displays, recreated scenes and more.
The Durham Museum’s newest exhibit on George Washington Carver is the backdrop for this year’s participant’s night.

What: UNMC and TNMC employees and their families will learn about the life and work of Carver — an extraordinary man, born into slavery, who used his gifts to become a groundbreaking scientist, educator and humanitarian.

When: 5 to 8 p.m.

Where: The Durham Museum, 801 S. 10th St.

Other stuff: Live jazz music and special children’s science demonstrations from CAPOW! also will be featured. A cash bar and light hors d’oeuvres will be available.

RSVP: unmcevents@unmc.edu. Admission is for immediate family only, which includes two adults and dependent children of the same household. An employee identification badge must be presented for admittance.
