Nominations are due Aug. 31 for the A. Ross McIntyre Gold Medal and Award for Outstanding Contributions to Medical Sciences and/or Medical Education, which will be presented in the spring.

The award — named for Professor A. Ross McIntyre, chairman of the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at UNMC from 1935-1967 — goes to an individual who has made “an original and innovative contribution in a scientific field related to medicine and/or medical education.”

The McIntyre Award committee seeks nominations of appropriate individuals for the award, which consists of an honorarium of $1,500, a gold medal and an all-expenses-paid trip to Omaha to deliver a lecture, meet with faculty and receive the award.
