New faculty senate officers elected

The UNMC Faculty Senate has elected officers for 2011-2012.

The officers are:

  • President — Wayne Stuberg, Ph.D., Munroe-Meyer Institute;
  • Immediate past president — Luis Marky, Ph.D., College of Pharmacy;
  • Vice President/President elect — Audrey Nelson, Ph.D., College of Nursing; and
  • Secretary/Treasurer — Todd Wyatt, Ph.D., College of Public Health.

The senate serves as the governing body empowered to represent the UNMC faculty. It includes a total of 42 members with representatives from each major academic unit.

Newly elected senators for 2011-12 include:

College of Medicine

  • Chandrakanth Are, M.D.;
  • Tina Flores, M.D.;
  • Paul Larsen, M.D.;
  • Eyal Margalit, M.D., Ph.D.; and
  • Sharon Stoolman, M.D.

School of Allied Health Professions

  • Darwin Brown
