Six faculty and one staff member from the UNMC College of Nursing received awards during the college’s 2011 Faculty-Staff Annual Meeting May 11 in Lincoln.
Award recipients and the awards were (award in parenthesis):
- Michele Balas, Ph.D., (Pennie Z. Davis Faculty Research Award);
- Paula Schulz, Ph.D., (Donna Westmoreland Excellence in Faculty Mentoring Award);
- Peggy Wilson, Ph.D., (Rosalee Yeaworth Teaching Excellence Award);
- Shirley Wiggins, Ph.D., (Kathryn Sandahl Philp Award for Creativity and Innovation);
- Peggy Pelish, Ph.D., (Ada Lindsey Professional Service Award for Excellence in Clinical Practice);
- Debbi Lee, (Staff Excellence Award); and
- Margaret Kaiser, Ph.D., (Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award).
Also, the college’s Kearney Division faculty received the Spirit of Shared Governance Award.
