Magda Peck, Sc,D., associate dean, College of Public Health, has been elected to the board of directors of the Women’s Center for Advancement, formerly the YWCA Omaha.

UNMC Public Relations received an Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Institutional Advancement Award for Excellence for the 2010 “Push-Ups for Haiti” event, during which medical center students and employees did push-ups to raise money for UNMC relief efforts following a massive earthquake in Haiti.

Ashish Joshi, M.D., assistant professor in the UNMC College of Public Health Center for Global Health and Development, received a scholarship to attend the 2011 American Medical Informatics Association’s Public Health conference in May.

Matthew Zimmerman, Ph.D., assistant professor of cellular and integrative physiology, received the New Investigator Award from the Neural Control and Autonomic Regulation section of The American Physiological Society.

Noah Marcus and Erin Rosenbaugh of the department of cellular and integrative physiology have received American Heart Association Midwest Affiliate Fellowships for a two-year period.
