The University of Nebraska Medical Center Division of Oncology and Hematology will host a reunion to honor its patients and survivors of blood cancers, which include lymphoma, leukemia and multiple myeloma. More than 60 from across the country, and their guests, plan to attend the April 17 event, which will be held on campus.
The Craving a Cure reunion will feature presentations by physicians, survivors and family members.
“We want patients, survivors, families, and the health care professionals who care for them to celebrate survivorship and the advances in cancer research that help all of our patients along their journey,” said Julie Vose, M.D., Neumann M. and Mildred E. Harris Professorial Chair and chief of the section of hematology/oncology. “Advances in treatment over the past two decades in blood cancers have made this reunion possible.”
