Setting the example
“As health-care organizations, we are excited to set the example for a healthy community,” said President and CEO Glenn Fosdick. “To many, this will be welcomed as a long-awaited and overdue event.
“Our message is not that everyone must stop smoking. However, as a health-care entity, we clearly cannot support the dangers posed to the health of our patients, staff or visitors.”
Tobacco cessation classes offered
Free tobacco-cessation classes for employees who wish to “kick the habit” are scheduled for:
- Today;
- March 28; and
- April 4.
The classes — offered by Tom Klingemann, Pharm.D. — run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the East Campus Corporate Pavilion, 3333 Farnam St. (Mutual Of Omaha Bank Building) on the fifth floor in the UNMC Physician Administrative offices conference rooms. Bring your own lunch.
