Campus bone marrow registration drive set for Friday

UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and several other local businesses will host a bone-marrow registration drive in Omaha this week.

When and Where:

  • Friday, March 25 — 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium; and
  • Saturday, March 26 — 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Black Family Health Fair, Omaha North High School, 4410 N. 36th St.

Who: Willing donors between the ages of 18 and 60 are sought to register.

Why: Bone marrow transplants can be the only life line for some people with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood disorders. The registry matches patients and donors not only across the U.S., but in several other countries around the world.
