Here are some numbers from Thursday’s Match Day ceremony at UNMC:
|
- 109 — the number of students who matched;
- 28 — the number of states that this year’s graduating UNMC medical students will travel to for residencies;
- 72 — the number of students who will do a first-year of primary care training; and
- 40 — the number of students who accepted residencies in Nebraska.
See where UNMC students are headed for their residencies.
Checking in on Boyd and Lyndsay
You may recall last Match Day, we featured Boyd Viers and Lyndsay Schwab, and Boyd’s “suicide match.”
For those keeping score at home, Boyd’s gamble paid off as he matched into a urologic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic, where his now-wife Lyndsay, will start a radiology residency later this year.
Match Day is the epitome of what makes UNMC such a special place to work. I highly recommend that everyone watch the Match Day video that accompanies this story. I guarantee it will put a smile on your face and a tear in your eye.
