Paul Tomich, M.D., professor of obstetrics/gynecology, has received the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’s first District VI Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, which will now be known as the Paul G. Tomich, M.D., District VI Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizes individuals for their contribution to ACOG. The award is not intended to be given every year but only when someone meets the high standard of service demonstrated by Dr. Tomich.
Harris Frankel, M.D., clinical associate professor in the department of neurological sciences and president of NeHII, Inc., has received the eHealth Initiative (eHI) Physician Advocate of the Year Award. He was honored for his leadership and commitment to technological advancements leading to the implementation of NeHII — a health information exchange that has grown to encompass 60 percent of the state’s population under Dr. Frankel’s leadership.
