In the wake of Wednesday’s shooting at Millard South High School, UNMC employees and students are again encouraged to register for the e2Campus alert system.
In the case of a life-threatening situation on campus, e2Campus would simultaneously send subscribers alerts via:
- Text messages;
- E-mails;
- Voicemails; and/or
- Pages.
NOTE: You must subscribe to receive the alerts.
UNMC employees can log onto http:ess.unmc.edu to register for e2Campus.
Students can register at http://care.unmc.edu or via Blackboard.
Register a friend or family member
If you want to have e2Campus messages sent to friends or family members it’s best to:
- Register them at a time when they are able to quickly relay to you the confirmation numbers they receive via text message and/or e-mail;
- The registering employee or student needs to supply these numbers to complete the registration in a timely manner. Registrants will be logged out if they don’t complete the registration within several minutes.

- E-mail service with valid e-mail address;
- Access to Internet with Web browser;
- Text paging device; and/or
- Blackberry device.
Subscribers must pay the cost for a text message should such an event occur but the cost of a message should only add about 10 cents to your cellular phone bill.
