Quick, think of five things others should know about you.
That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”
Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature.
This week, we feature Peter Pellerito, fitness specialist in the Center for Healthy Living.

- I was a 200 pound kid in junior high. I started jogging in high school and graduated at 150 pounds. Today, I’m a lot closer to 200 pounds than 150 pounds.
- I moved here in 1977 from Buffalo, N.Y. They get more snow than we do, but Omaha winters are much colder and the summers here also are much warmer.
- I enjoy doing things that challenge and even scare me a little bit. On my budget, I have to settle for cheap thrills. Most winters, I head to Colorado to go up a 14,000-foot peak or two. This season, I’ll do Pikes Peak.
- I am on a constant search for pleasure and purpose in my life. I believe that physical activity can actually be a great potential source of both.
- Some people think that I don’t own any long pants. I do. I just don’t wear them very often.
Read UNMC Today next Thursday to see who is featured in the next Lookin’ at U article. Who knows — it could be U.
