Dr. Carol Drake presents Dr. Fred Paustian with a plaque in recognition of the legendary physician’s support of the Iota Benefit and Phi Rho Sigma Medical Society.
Northeast Community College in Norfolk has received an honorable mention from the National Council of Instructional Administrators (NCIA) in its 2010 Exemplary Initiatives Competition. The award recognizes Northeast’s collaboration with the UNMC College of Nursing Northern Division to bring six levels of nursing education to the Northeast campus. The awards recognize outstanding ways to enhance the quality of higher education provided at two-year institutions in the United States.

Fred Paustian, M.D., a legendary UNMC gastroenterologist, was honored recently by the Iota Benefit and Phi Rho Sigma Medical Society, for his many years of service to the organization. Phi Rho Sigma is a national medical student organization with more than 120 members on the UNMC campus. Throughout his career, Dr. Paustian, the state’s first specialty-trained gastroenterologist, supported the Phi Rho Sigma organization and UNMC.
