The Nebraska Medical Center’s diabetes program has earned the “Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval,” making it the first and only nationally certified diabetes center in the state of Nebraska. In addition, The Nebraska Medical Center — UNMC’s hospital partner — is one of about 25 elite hospitals to earn this recognition.
CityMatCH — a national public health organization housed with the UNMC Department of Pediatrics — has received the American Public Health Association Maternal and Child Health Section’s Effective Practice Award. CityMatCH was honored for its outstanding dedication and contributions to the field of public health. The award is the second national award for CityMatCH this year. The group also recently received the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) Director’s Award.
