The University of Nebraska Board of Regents approved Morrison’s request at its meeting on Thursday.
“Dean Reinhardt deserves this honor because he’s made tremendous strides improving the clinical and instructional areas at the school, and he’s a terrific leader for the College of Dentistry,” Morrison said.
In 2004, Morrison donated funds to help renovate the clinic, improvements that would not have been possible without his support. His donation provided for not only updated dental chairs and cabinetry but simulation equipment as well.

- 17-inch, flat-screen computer monitors and keyboards in each of the 47 cubicles;
- Stainless steel sinks; and
- New equipment that transforms the clinic into a simulation environment where students can train on simulated heads with flexible mouths and cheeks.
“Ken Morrison is a great entrepreneur and philanthropist,” said UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. “We are very fortunate and grateful for his support of the College of Dentistry.
“He honors not only Dean John Reinhardt with his philanthropy but the students, faculty and staff.”
Congratulations Dean Reinhardt! You are very deserving of this high honor. The students, faculty and staff are fortunate to have your vision and leadership in accomplishing these great things for our College!
Congratulations Dr . Reinhardt. It is a privilege to have studied under you before you came to Nebraska. You were then and even more now a capable and inspiring leader in dentistry! I applaud you for your accomplishments with the College of Dentistry.
