Don Leuenberger, vice chancellor for business and finance, said that Bataillon brings a wealth of operations experience and university knowledge to her new position. Bataillon serves as associate professor and assistant dean for administration for the College of Nursing. In her new role, she will assume the responsibilities for budget and financial compliance of John Adams, Ph.D., upon his retirement.

“John has filled a unique position within UNMC for more than 20 years,” Leuenberger said, “and his talents will be sorely missed.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at UNMC and the College of Nursing, and I look forward to this new challenge,” Bataillon said.

In her role in the College of Nursing, Bataillon provides oversight of the college’s administrative services, including human resources, academic and staff support, facilities and fiscal and business management.

Virginia Tilden, D.N.Sc., dean of the College of Nursing, said that Bataillon has been a key contributor to moving the college forward.

“I am not surprised that Pam’s talents have led to this new position. I see this move as matching both her full potential and the larger good for UNMC,” Dr. Tilden said. “She will be sorely missed in the College of Nursing and we will always consider her one of our own.”
