Jeremy Peterson, a third-year medical student from Atkinson, Neb., will be UNMC’s Student Senate President for 2011 while Faisal Ahmed, a second-year medical student from Omaha will be the senate’s vice president.
Peterson currently serves as vice president and Ahmed currently is secretary.
Both are class presidents.
Peterson and Ahmed will take office in January, along with the following newly elected at-large senators:

The term for at-large senate seats runs from January through December of 2011. In addition to the at-large seats, the colleges are represented on the senate by class presidents and other representatives who are elected at various times throughout the school year.
