American Indian culture the focus of Nov. 11 Time Traveler’s event

UNMC employees are invited to join Kenneth Little Hawk, an American Indian storyteller, speaker, recording artist and actor for a presentation at UNMC on Thursday, Nov. 11 in recognition of November as Native American History Month.

The event is offered through the Time Traveler’s Partnership, which allows for free admission to the Durham Museum for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with valid identification.

Who: Little Hawk has toured America for the past 20 years and performed for more than 2 million people at many distinguished locations including Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington and the American Museum of Natural History. His voice and authentic flute music can be heard in such award-winning PBS films as “The West” and “Lewis & Clark,” which were produced by Ken Burns.

What: Little Hawk will discuss American Indian culture, music, storytelling and dance. Employees are encouraged to bring lunch.
