Get ‘nerdy’ at Oct. 25 UNMC LINK event

picture disc. You are invited to a noon UNMC LINK presentation on Monday, Oct. 25 to hear Wendy Townley, UNO Assistant Director of Media Relations and “Nerdy Thirty” author, talk about her new book and how she used social media to market it.

The book comically recounts Townley’s “nerdy” life experiences leading up to her 30th birthday.

“When I turned 30 a few years back, I closely examined my life and marveled at the sheer number of unusual experiences I had experienced,” Townley said. “There was one common thread woven through all of these events: how awkward I felt.”

  • Masquerading for a night as Audrey Hepburn; and
  • Finding her voice as a writer.
