They dismantled Washington on the road last weekend — now the Nebraska Cornhuskers return home Saturday to face the South Dakota State Jackrabbits.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits come into Lincoln on Saturday to face No. 6 Nebraska. Real jackrabbits can run between 30 and 35 miles per hour. That kind of speed could come in handy for SDSU against NU’s Taylor Martinez and Roy Helu. |
Some species of jackrabbits run between 30 and 35 miles per hour, which means they may be able to catch up with NU quarterback Taylor Martinez. But we digress.
Our panelists all correctly picked NU wins last week to move to 3-0 each. Our guest panelist Jennifer Hilger also correctly picked a Nebraska win to become the first guest panelist in the history of Friday Husker Pick’em to correctly pick a winner. Congrats Hilger.
Below, our regulars — Jeffrey Hill, M.D., Kyle Ringenberg, M.D., and the team of Lisa Runco and Chad Kelsay — weigh in on the Huskers and the Jackrabbits.
Dr. Hill says, “This is another tune-up game. I don’t have much else to say other than noting that Taylor Martinez is the real deal.” NU 55, South Dakota State 7
Team Runco/Kelsay says, “After last week’s total drubbing of a team that surely is 1,000 percent better than SDSU, we hope that we are not too cocky and in for a big letdown! If we are as on target as last week, it could get truly ugly 60-0, 70-0. But we think that if things are going our way early, we will put in subs and maybe not try to kill them.” NU 49, South Dakota State 0
Dr. Ringenberg says, “SDSU should be overmatched in every aspect of the game. This will likely prove to be an opportunity for NU coaches to evaluate players on the lower end of the depth chart and get everyone in the game.” NU 59, South Dakota State 10
NU 63 SDSU 0
