The 2010 UNMC United Way campaign kicks off Monday, Oct. 4. Here are some facts about this year’s drive.
When: Oct. 4-22
Goal: UNMC has an employee contribution goal of $143,094. Overall, the United Way hopes to raise $21.5 million for the community.
How: For the sixth-straight year, UNMC employees can pledge online through an efficient, secure system. On Oct. 4:
- Employees will receive a user name and password in an e-mail message sent to their UNMC e-mail accounts;
- Paper pledge cards will be available to UNMC employees who do not have UNMC e-mail accounts;
- Campaign pledges, which can be made through UNMC’s payroll deduction, are automatically withdrawn beginning in January; and
- A “no-pledge” option is available online for employees who choose not to donate. If you’re unable to contribute, you still are encouraged to access the eWay Web site and submit their “no donation” response to be eligible for the prize drawings.
Contribution options: Employees can direct campaign contributions, which help support more than 150 health and human service programs across the Omaha-Council Bluffs-Bellevue area.
Incentive: Pledge by Oct. 8 to be eligible for the first weekly prize drawing, which will be held each Friday during the campaign. Among the prizes available during this year’s drawings are tickets to the following Nebraska football games:
- Oct. 16 vs. Texas;
- Oct. 30 vs. Missouri; and
- Nov. 13 vs. Kansas.
Other prizes awarded during the drawings include gift certificates from:
- Borsheim’s;
- Target;
- Best Buy;
- Nebraska Furniture Mart;
- Village Pointe Shopping Center and other businesses.
Drawing winners will be announced in UNMC Today.
