The Omaha Science Café on Oct. 5 will look at the psychological differences between liberals and conservatives.
John Hibbing, Ph.D., a University of Nebraska-Lincoln Foundation Regents University Professor of political science, will speak from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Slowdown located at 729 N. 14th St.
Last year Dr. Hibbing was featured on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
His work uses economic games, functional magnetic resonance imaging, evolutionary theory and behavioral genetics to identify the deeper biological causes of social, and especially political behavior. He has been a NATO fellow in a science and senior Fulbright fellow and has received six National Science Foundation grants.
