The public is invited to tour the J. Paul and Eleanor McIntosh College of Nursing on the campus of Northeast Community College in Norfolk on Sunday, Sept. 19, from 3-5 p.m.
The McIntosh College of Nursing houses the new UNMC College of Nursing Northern Division, which will offer bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree nursing programs, and Northeast Community College’s nursing programs, including basic nurse aide, medication aide, practical nursing and associate degree nursing.
The facility was built following a successful $11.9 million capital campaign. J. Paul and Eleanor McIntosh gave the capstone gift of well over $1 million to bring the campaign to a conclusion.
In addition to tours of the facility, there will also be demonstrations of computerized instructional mannequins.
Ruth A. Pakieser Macnamara, Ph.D., assistant dean of the UNMC College of Nursing Northern Division, Chuck Pohlman, Northeast dean of agriculture, health and science, and Karen Weidner, director of Northeast nursing programs, will also be on hand.
Refreshments will be served.
