UNMC Alumni Reunion set for Oct. 8-9

Hundreds of alumni from five different academic units to come to Omaha

WHAT:                       One Class – World Class Reunion
 
WHEN:                       Oct. 8-9
 
WHERE:                    Oct. 8 – UNMC campus
                                    Oct. 9 – Truhlsen Events Center in the Sorrell Center during the morning and afternoon; Hilton Omaha for dinner in the evening
 
HONOR CLASSES: 1945, 1950, 1955, 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005 and those who graduated more than 50 years ago.
 
WHO:                         Alumni from five different UNMC academic units — the colleges of medicine, nursing, pharmacy and public health and the School of Allied Health Professions.
 
HIGHLIGHTS:          NOTE: A significant change from previous years is that most of the campus activities will take place on Saturday rather than on Friday.
                                   
                                    FRIDAY, OCT. 8:
1-4 p.m. – Department tours of Sorrell Center, neurology, library, Weigel Williamson Center for Visual Rehabilitation, gross anatomy, Home Instead Center for Successful Aging, and the Center for Nursing Sciences.
 
Evening – Class reunion parties and dinners.
                                   
                                    SATURDAY, OCT. 9:
                                                10 – 11:30 a.m. – Guided walking tour or shuttle tour of campus
                                   
11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Deans speak at lunch in Truhlsen Events Center       
                                   
                                                1:30 – 2:30 p.m. – Presentations on excellence in education and new discoveries, shuttle tour of campus.
 
5 – 9 p.m. – UNMC Alumni Celebration & Awards Dinner, Hilton Omaha, 1001 Cass St. Schedule: 5 – 6:45 p.m. – reception and class photos; 7 – 9 p.m. – dinner and program featuring video of alumni reminiscences, tribute to alumni award recipients, and special recognition of Half Century Club members.
