Sept. 14 Joslyn seminar focused on Omaha’s Kent Bellows

Kent Bellows, shown in this self portrait, and his art will be the focus of a Sept. 14 seminar at UNMC.

Joslyn Museum will sponsor a free event for employees on Sept. 14 at noon in the Sorrell Center, Room 2010, during which the works of local artist Kent Bellows will be discussed.

Bellows — whose art will be featured at the Joslyn from Sept. 25 through Jan. 16 — grew up and made his home in Omaha.

He had a reputation as a leading American figurative artist. Complicated and provocative, his sensitive intellect and creative ability produced images of great beauty, emotional depth, and humanity.

Employees are invited to bring lunch

Contact Kacie Gerard at kgerard@unmc.edu to register. There needs to be a minimum of 10 people registered for the event to be held.

The event is offered through the Passport Partners program, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with valid identification.
