Omaha’s ‘grit’ to be featured during trolley tour

Partnership note The tour is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for UNMC, Medical Center and UNMC Physician employees, students, and their immediate family with valid identification. The partnership also brings lectures, workshops and other events to the medical center campus.

The Durham Museum once again offers medical center employees a chance to take “The Gritty City” noon trolley tour of downtown Omaha.

When: Tuesday, Aug. 10 at noon

Where: The trolley will leave from the Durham Research Center drive-up area and take visitors through downtown Omaha, pointing out several historic locations, including:

• The former site of Madame Anna Wilson’s home;
  
• The Brandeis Building; and
  
• The Paxton Hotel.

Cost: A $5 cash payment will be collected prior to boarding the trolley. Seating is limited to 20 people and reservations must be made in advance. E-mail Kacie Gerard to reserve your space.

Who: The tour is offered to employees of The Nebraska Medical Center, University of Nebraska Medical Center, and University of Nebraska Medical Center Physicians (spouses and guests will be accommodated only if space permits).
