For those using Firefly’s Leave Request process, please pay special attention to your requests that fall over the Fourth of July weekend.
Currently ESS Leave will disregard the weekend and not charge vacation hours for Saturday and Sunday but this isn’t the case when it comes to holidays.
As an example, if you plan on taking vacation for the remainder of today (Friday, July 2) through Tuesday, July 6, you’ll need to submit two requests, one for Friday and another for Tuesday.
Creating the two requests will then accurately post your vacation to your employee record.
This splitting would also be necessary for leave requests spanning the Labor Day holiday on Sept. 6.
