UNMC recently received the Heartland Chapter of the Red Cross Annual Philanthropy Award for its relief efforts in Haiti.
Below is a list of recent achievements, activities and happenings involving UNMC staff, faculty and students.

UNMC recently received the Heartland Chapter of the Red Cross Annual Philanthropy Award for its relief efforts in Haiti earlier this year. Rubens Pamies, M.D., vice chancellor for academic affairs; Ayman El-Mohandes, M.B.B.Ch., M.D., M.P.H., dean of the College of Public Health; surgeon Alan Richards, M.D.; and nurse Nick Hall were among those who accepted the award for UNMC.

UNMC’s five senior radiology residents successfully passed their oral exams and have become certified radiologists. The graduating residents are:
  • Aaron Benner, M.D.,;
  • Amy Dahl, M.D.,;
  • Danette Kibuule, M.D.,;
  • Chris Koch, M.D.,; and
  • Terri Love, M.D.

Alpha Xi Delta, an alumni sorority group at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, recently donated more than $1,700 to the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute to allow Henry Kiper-Waddell, a young boy with autism, to receive early intervention services.
