Speaker to discuss why culture matters in health care

Every day, faculty and staff at UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center treat, teach and conduct research with people from many different nations and cultures.

Learn how language barriers and cultural differences affect the ability to deliver quality health care during a pair of campus seminars today by David Hunt, a national expert in cross-cultural health.

Hunt will:

Present “The Culturally Responsive Hospital — Addressing Race, Culture and Language Challenges” at noon in the Durham Research Center Auditorium; and
Discuss curriculum, teaching methods, cultural competency and the importance of a global health science educational environment during a 3 p.m. presentation for educators and academic administrators in the College of Nursing, second floor commons.
