Reception for Dr. Gollan set for Wednesday

John Gollan, M.D., Ph.D., dean of the College of Medicine, will be honored at a campus reception on Wednesday.

John Gollan, M.D., Ph.D.

During the event, which starts at 2 p.m. in the Sorrell Center’s Linder Reading Room, Dr. Gollan will be recognized for his accomplishments as dean.

He will step down on July 1 after seven years in the position. Rod Markin, M.D., Ph.D., the David T. Purtilo Distinguished Professor of Pathology, senior associate dean for clinical affairs in the College of Medicine and president of UNMC Physicians, will serve as interim dean.

UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., will make comments at the reception starting at 2:30 p.m.
