Last year, UNMC reduced its annual order of Dex phone books to 600, of which only two were given out to employees.
In previous years, the campus would receive thousands of phone books.
“Congratulations to UNMC employees for embracing online resources such Dex’s online phone book,” UNMC recycling manager Rick Boldt said. “This is a significant development in terms of reducing our carbon footprint.”
This year UNMC only plans to order 50 phone books for the entire campus.
