On Tuesday, UNMC and the Durham Museum will offer UNMC employees an exclusive opportunity to discuss one of Omaha’s best kept secrets — the Byron Reed Collection.
Join museum curator Carrie Wieners at noon in the Sorrell Center, Room 2010, as she discusses the collection and some of the treasures it posses.

It contains artifacts such as a first edition King James Bible, a coin minted during the time of Julius Caesar and documents signed by 46 of the signers of the Declaration of Independence
In recent months a new inventory of the collection has been undertaken and many fascinating pieces have been brought to light — including several that have never before been on public display.
The lecture is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students and their immediate family with valid identification. The partnership also facilitates lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus. Employees are encouraged to bring lunch.
