UNMC has gone green for the staff annual service awards gift selection process.
Service awards are based on the number of years of employment in the University of Nebraska system and are given in five-year increments for staff.
Previously, catalogs were sent to awardees’ homes.
Now, e-mails will be sent to service awards recipients to select a gift from the online catalog.
Service award recipients will have two weeks to choose a gift from the date they receive the e-mail.
The e-mail will be received from UNMCserviceawardsgifts@unmc.edu and the subject line will read: Congratulations on your University of Nebraska Medical Center Anniversary, please select your gift.
The new process will:
- Give employees a wider selection of gifts to select from;
- Reduce administrative costs; and
- Add to UNMC sustainability initiative by going green and eliminating the use of catalogs.
