Quick, think of five things others should know about you.
That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”
Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature.
This week, we feature Jonathan Weinhold, a research technologist in the College of Pharmacy.

- When I was asked on Tuesday to be in Lookin’ at U this week, I spent the day thinking that I had nothing interesting to say. Later that afternoon, walking to my car, I interrupted the attempted theft of my own car stereo. I’d like to thank campus security and the Omaha Police Department for their quick response and successful apprehension of the would-be thief.
- I’m from Gering, Neb., which is in the middle of the panhandle.
- My mother was a teacher my father was a farmer (two under-appreciated
professions, I believe). I have a sister named Wendy and my cousin Chad has lived with us my whole life, essentially making him my brother. - I own about 360 video games. I’ve been a big video gamer for pretty much my whole life, but the hobby that I really wish I could indulge in more often is snow skiing, which I’ve been doing since age 4.
- I’m a huge Husker football fan (of course!) and an Atlanta Braves fan. With some help from a few other Nebraskans, I’ve nearly turned my sports-indifferent, Illinois-born girlfriend Hailey into a football-wise Husker fan.
Read UNMC Today next Thursday to see who is featured in the next Lookin’ at U article. Who knows — it could be U.
