Smithsonian Masterworks Orchestra at The Durham Museum

UNMC employees are invited to The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra’s special performance in The Durham’s Stanley and Dorothy Truhlsen Lecture Hall on April 13.












Event timeline



  • 5 to 6 p.m. – reception
  • 6 to 6:30 p.m. – lecture
  • 6:30 to 8 p.m. – concert
  • 8 to 9 p.m. – meet the musicians




As the orchestra-in-residence at the National Museum of American History, the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra will perform big band jazz as its composers and arrangers intended it to be played with additional lecture information.

In addition, don’t miss your chance to meet the musicians following the performance.

This program is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students and their immediate family with a valid identification badge, while also offering lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus.
