Quick, think of five things others should know about you. That's the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called "Lookin' at U." Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature. This week, we feature Karol Warchola, a recreation program associate in the the Munroe-Meyer Institute recreation therapy department. Here, in her own words, are five fun facts about Karol:

I am a native of Fremont, Ohio, and have three children: Kamille, 14, Madi, 13 and Josef, 11, who keep me and my hair dresser extremely busy.
- This February, Madi, celebrated the 10-year anniversary of being seizure free. She suffered from Epileptic Regression Syndrome, a debilitating and potentially fatal form of epilepsy, and had two life-saving brain surgeries performed at UNMC by Dr. Angelo Patil in February 2000. She is doing great!
- I enjoy doing home renovations and I learned the hard way that you can never have too many wax rings when replacing a toilet.
- My favorite place is in the middle of Lake Chicaugon in Crystal Falls, Mich., which is the Upper Peninsula. My kids and I go there for a week every summer and we can't wait to get back up there this June!
- I have two claims to fame — Andy Warhol and Paris Hilton. Andy Warhol is a second cousin although don't ever mention it in front of my dad … they didn't get along. The Paris Hilton connection was just recently discovered. During WWII, my father served on the USS Hodges under Carl Hilton, brother of Conrad Hilton (Paris' great grandfather). Dad told of some pretty incredible parties that his skipper would have at the Roosevelt Hotel for the crew when they would pull into New York.
